Staff: Dr. Hamby

Veterinarian

Dr. Matthew Hamby was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. After high school, he attended The University of Missouri at Columbia. He received his BS in Biology in 1996 and his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2000.While in school; he had preceptorships in Coral Springs Florida, Atlanta Georgia, and the St. Louis Zoo. After school he entered a mixed animal practice in North Carolina. He also worked several years at an emergency clinic where he became the Chief of Staff. In 2003, He moved to Austin and has been practicing small animal medicine ever since. He joined the staff at Premier Animal Hospital in May of 2006.

He has two dogs, “Murphy” and “Mika” and two cats “Jax” and “Isaac”. In his spare time, he enjoys snowboarding, wakeboarding, skiing, slinging pottery, and cheering on his St. Louis Cardinals.
